Fantastic prices and great selection, especially for its size. I don’t think I’ve ever gone in looking for something that I didn’t find a copy of. Just picked up some Twain and Pohl today! Easily the best place to get books in DeKalb County.

I find an ancient jem, old favorite or new page turner every time I come to this bookstore. I can't recommend it enough if you enjoy books, antique books or the Classics.

Wonderful store! The man who runs this is so nice and he has a great selection of material that is very affordable. My girlfriend and I love used book stores and this is one of the best in terms of variety, selection and feel.

I love this bookstore! I visit family nearby every couple of years and make sure to always come back and check it out. I leave with 2-3 boxes every time. Finding the rare classics out in the wild here is so exciting! Charles is so knowledgeable in so many topics and has some great suggestions for what you may be looking for.

I believe that every Midwestern town should have a cozy bookstore like this, owned by a well-read, kind old fellow. The owner knew about all of the authors I was inquiring after, and was completely friendly company. The books are also extremely affordable! Like, $1-3 per book. If you’re a high school student or for whatever reason need to read a book for school, this shop is well-stocked in the American classics plus other books that I remember being mandatory reading. Also an extensive Agatha Christie collection! I easily spent about 2 hours just browsing, I adore this place.

Charles will repair books at a reasonable price. If you have torn dust jackets, cracked spines, loose pages, he has a solution. He puts on plastic coverings, page hinges, and will reconstruct a spine or cover. He has found images online and color-printed them on cardboard to mimic an original paperback book cover that was missing! He even researched the original font for the spine of an old 1920s literary magazine I asked him to restore. An expert craftsman with a vanishing skill. I travel from Chicago to DeKalb to get all my books repaired at Classic Books. You can trust him with your antique and delicate books.

This is a hidden gem and the owner is amazing. One minute in conversation and you can tell this man loves his daughter with every fiber of his being.
